Prince Charitable Trusts
Program Officer
About the Organization
Three generations ago, Frederick H. Prince and his wife Abbie Norman Prince established a philanthropic legacy by creating the Prince Charitable Trusts (the Trusts). Over time, their heirs have created giving programs in cities where the Prince family has deep and long-standing ties: Chicago, IL, Washington, DC, and Newport, Rhode Island.
The Trusts is a family foundation that believes in the capacity of non-profit organizations to change lives, to improve communities, and to advance ideas. The Trusts strive to add muscle to their grantee organizations’ might with operating, project, and capacity-building grants and special awards for their often unique and unheralded work.
The Prince Charitable Trusts Chicago program supports the arts, environmental justice, and sports-based youth development. Grants are awarded during two grants cycles per year.

About the Opportunity
Working in partnership with, and reporting to, the Co-Executive Director, Chicago, the Program Officer works to prioritize equity, identify grantee partners, and support the Chicago grant making program. This person will help implement a newly re-envisioned arts program including a participatory grantmaking component; an environmental justice program including the Aya Initiative, a participatory grantmaking initiative now in its fourth year; and a sports-based youth development program. The Program Officer plays a pivotal role in building new and maintaining current relationships with grantee partners in all program areas, community leaders, and peers in the funding community.
